Richard Allen Schoenfeld, one of three men who kidnapped a busload of school children along with their bus driver in 1976 and buried them alive in a delivery truck (see photo), has been released from prison after serving 35 years behind bars. A healthy society would never let him leave prison. A healthy society may well have considered the terror the children experienced and at least discussed applying the death penalty to this despicable thug.
