Crimespeak is speaking or writing against anything the Left supports. There is racist-crimespeak, or other forms such as anti-homosexual (what the Left calls “homophobic”), sexist, or religious-crimespeak (unless against Christians – there is no crime in that). While liberals in many Western nations regularly accuse their citizens of crimespeak, a charge generally reserved for white citizens, some nations have criminalized the offense. The citizens of England, for example, live with the ever-present threat of being criminally charged for crimespeak, especially racist-crimespeak.
Lest you think that is an exaggeration, here is a story about a top-level English soccer player (footballer in England) named John Terry. Mr. Terry was charged with racist-crimespeak for allegedly calling a black opponent, Anton Ferdinand, a black c***. Harsh language (that he denies), but criminal? Cleared today of the racism charge, Mr. Terry may well have been convicted had black teammate Ashley Cole not vouched for him. In many Western nations, white people must have black people stand up for them against charges of racism or they risk severe punishment for their unspeakable crimes. In England that punishment can mean prison. This is just one example of the English being punished for speech; there are many more outrageous stories from the land George Orwell called home. These are but a few of the atrocities being visited upon the English people; a quick internet search will return many more examples of freedoms lost in England.
Today’s story deals with an English soldier who faces punishment for recently daring to speak his mind (via Twitter) concerning a white pop-starlet (Lily Allen) adopting a black African baby. The Army is investigating the soldier for this racist-crimespeak and modern England is one of those Western nations where prison is always a possibility for those so accused.
The crimespeaker/soldier claims that his tweet was misunderstood and that there was no racism intended in his comment. The soldier also wrote an apology to the pop-starlet and sent her flowers (she has accepted his apology – for whatever that is worth). Perhaps some black soldiers will testify on his behalf so all rest assured that he is a decent man. After all, if a black person stands up for a white person accused of racism, doesn’t that prove that the white person (unless he is the “white” hispanic George Zimmerman) is not an evil menace to society? The “logic” that says a white man needs a black man to say he isn’t a racist or he might just be a racist brings to mind the “logic” from a scene from Monty Python: Witches burn and wood burns. So, a witch is made of wood. Wood floats and ducks float. So if a witch weighs the same as a duck (on a rigged scale) that proves she’s made of wood and therefore a witch. Our new form of logic is just as insane as Monty Python’s and not nearly as amusing. Woe is the white man with not a black friend to testify on his behalf.
This Lily Allen is another mindless white celebrity, joining the likes of Madonna Ciccone, Sandra Bullock, Angelina Jolie (who is white/asian), Kristin Davis, Mariska Hargitay, and many other celebrities in adopting black babies (usually from Sub-Saharan Africa and occasionally Haiti). It is one of those “progressive” white achievements that is second only to giving birth to a mixed race child and as such it scores the starlet a generous amount of praise from the liberal mainstream media, both Left and Right.
Let me add here that I am simply questioning the motives of celebrities who do this and I do not intend to sound indifferent toward the adopted children. Interracial adoption comes with the same set of challenges that face any adoption, plus its own set of hurdles. Being adopted as a status symbol could only exacerbate the situation for the child.
Here is the tweet: ‘All the best with your new family just seen you bought s*** I meant adopted a child from Africa #hero.’
It is clear that the soldier turned crimespeaker is not happy with the adoption. It seems as though some people think the soldiers use of the word s*** is in reference to the skin color of the child. His family claims a comma is missing – evidently before the word s***. If that’s true, he was writing something akin to ‘ahem’ to show irony after writing the truth, then writing the sentiment using more politically correct phraseology. It would look like this: ‘All the best with your new family just seen you bought, ahem, I meant adopted a child from Africa #hero.’
The soldier is obviously displeased that Lily Allen, in his judgement, “bought” a child. The question remains, is he unhappy that she “bought” a child, or that she “bought” a child and that the child was from Africa. The latter looks more probable. Otherwise, why comment specifically on where the child is from. Why not say “bought another child from a foreign country?” It appears more likely that he is claiming that there was no racist intent in his comment so that he may avoid potentially serious discipline from his Army superiors. He also must surely be aware of the possibility of severe punishment from the civilian police on top of his fate at the hands of the Army’s investigators.
What would have happened had the crimespeaker not apologized? Just as Orwell’s Winston Smith knew the rules of his society, this soldier knows the rules of modern English society. To have any chance of minimizing to any extent the damage to his life he knew he had to apologize and get the mindless starlet (as well as any others) to forgive him for his crimes. It remains to be seen if that will help him since the Army’s investigation is still ongoing.
America might very well have the same laws against free speech in the not so distant future. Increasingly, what one says in America can have negative results for the speaker or writer. Soon, words spoken and written in America for generations by the free men who came before us, may leave the modern speaker open for criminal prosecution.
It’s a brave new world that we in the West have allowed ourselves to be painted into. May God help us to avoid becoming the evil totalitarian societies that our ancestors fought against.

Lily Allen is no stranger to Twitter spats – but although her latest, with a serving soldier she accused of being racist, ended with flowers it was one of her more serious rows yet.
An official Army investigation, complaints to the Ministry Of Defence and a host of accusatory racist tweets from both sides meant the former singer even considered leaving the social networking site.
But today she announced the row was over after accepting a handwritten apology along with a bunch of flowers from Sniper Lance Corporal Harry Wilson.
L/Cpl Wilson, of the Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, posted on social networking site Twitter: ‘All the best with your new family just seen you bought s*** I meant adopted a child from Africa #hero.’
Allen, who previously suffered two miscarriages, then sent a tweet to the Army, saying: ‘Do you condone @harrywil2010 racist comments? His profile says he is in the British Army. he needs disciplining.’
Allen, who Tweets under her married name @lilyrosecooper, reported the comment to the Ministry of Defence.
But this action opened her up to a heap of abuse from her followers and other Twitter users, who slammed her for reporting the message to the MoD.
